  1. Thank you, the add on is now allowing Bitcomet to work. I agree, I love Bitcomet & use it regularly, thats why it is frustrating when Mozilla update FF & it stops working :-)
  2. Hi There, Couldn't get Bitcomet working with newer versions of Firefox. What version of Firefox does Bitcomet 1.40 support? I also tried installing Cometbird & then installing Bitcomet 1.40, but that doesn't work either Same issue - the option to select Bitcomet when downloading / saving files does not appear. Thanks Tim
  3. Hi There, Asked this question in another thread, but didn;t get answered. What is the latest version of Firefox that will most likely work with Bitcomet? I am currently using FF 26.0 & Bitcomet V1.37. Has anyone had any luck using Bitcomet with newer versions of FF? Is there any plan for a new release of Bitcomet in the future? Cheers Tim

  5. Hi There, I have been having the same issue for a couple of months now too. Bitcomet V1.37 FF V26.0 Windows 7 64bit Home Premium Billion 7800N using ethernet cable, not wireless. Port fowarding should not be an issue as the file gets to ~90+% before it stops. Comodo Internet Security, Spybot & Advanced System Care I seem to be able to download torrents ok from public (free) websites like Pirate Bay (RIP), but I don't use these very much, so I can't say for 100% certain. But I mainly use Warez-bb.org to d/load stuff from. With Warez-bb.org, no files are hosted on their website, only private (paid) download sites like Uploaded, File Factory, Rapidgator, etc. With these private websites, there is no option to restart the download, you have to start from the beginning again, which when you are on a 6mbit ADSL link, and file sizes of 1GB, this can be inconvenient as well as adding to my monthly download limit. As far as I can tell, nothing major has changed on my computer - only Windows & anti virus updates. Let me know if you need any further info. Also are there any newer versions of Bitcomet in the pipeline, or, is Bitcomet V1.37 compatible with newer versions of Firefox? Thanks in advance :-) Cheers Tim
  6. Thanks for the explanation Unusual Suspect. I understand that Bitcomet is developed by volunteers, so I will be patient :-) I have been a user for a while now & I guess I got used to the more frequent previous updates of past. Everything is working stable at the moment anyway with FF26 & Bitcomet V1.37, so I guess I'll leave it until there is a new Bitcomet release. Thanks again for your time :-)
  7. Hi Guys & Girls, Is there any plan to release an update / new version of Bitcomet. I use Bitcomet V1.37 with FF, still on FF V26, but FF is now up to V32. Is Bitcomet compatible with the newer versins of FF? I don't want to upgrade FF until I am certain that Bitcomet will work. Thanks in advance :-)
  8. Thanks for your reply and taking the time to look into it :-) Is there any update, or have you been able to reproduce the problem? Cheers Tim
  9. Hi There, Problem still exists with FF 20.0 & Bitcomet 1.37 beta 3 Previously I could only get FF10.0.2 to work with Bitcomet 1.32 :-( I found this article on FF about it https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=546848 Are there any plans to address this issue in Bitcomet - I really don't want to use another torrent client - when Bitcomet works, it works great :-) Cheers Tim
  10. Hi There, I have noticed that since upgrading to FF18 (with Bitcomet V1.35) and now FF20 with Bitcomet V1.36, I get the following message: "bitcomet extension failed netscape.security.privilegemanager is undefined" Mozilla say the following via http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/936845 "Yes. Starting in Firefox 17 privileged code can not run in a web page anymore. In Firefox 15 you have to manually change a setting to enable it. You can bring that kind of functionality to an extension. Starting points: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Code_snippets/Interaction_between_privileged_and_non-privileged_pages For beginners: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/XUL_School/Getting_Started_with_Firefox_Extensions More information: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Bypassing_Security_Restrictions_and_Signing_Code" Can I get Bitcomet working with either FF18 or 20 without having to write any code? I guess I can go back to FF10 with Bitcomet V1.34 as a last resort....
  11. OK, got it working (after much fartassing around) Confirmed that FF V10.0.2 with Bitcomet V1.32 64 bit will work perfectly :-)
  12. Hi There, thanks for the heads up. I will wait to see if one of the other members has more info about what FF versions may be compatible :-)
  13. "BitCometExtension Failed, Components.classes['@bitcomet.com/BitCometExtension;1'] is undefined!" I get this error when trying to save files via "Download this file with Bitcomet" through Firefox 13.0.1 I have recently reimaged my laptop and cannot seem to get Bitcomet working. Bitcomet was working fine before I reloaded my laptop software to factory default (but I was probably using an earlier version of Firefox). 1) What version of BitComet are you using? Bitcomet 1.32 32 bit version - but I have also tried the 64 bit version & Bitcomet V1.31 & 1.30. 2) What type of Internet connection do you have (ADSL, etc.)? ADSL 3) Do you have a modem? Do you use a router? What make and model are each one of them? Have you forwarded your port? Netgear DG834GU 4) If you have more than one router, be sure to mention the make and model of both devices, how are they connected (i.e. in which connector of both devices is the network cable plugged) and which one of the devices is connected to or is the modem. Also, if you have more than one computer make sure to mention in this case, to which router is every one of them connected. N/A 5) What version of Windows, Firewall and Antivirus do you use? Windows 7, Avast, IOBit Malware, Spybot, Windows Firewall. Any ideas would be appreciated :-)
