  1. Oops! I forgot that I would also like to be able to watch it from the HD with like PowerDVD. I think I'm gonna seed this before giving it a test burn. And as far as the burning, will blank CD-R/Ws do? Or must I have blank DVD-R/Ws? And if so, any particular kind (for example, the movie itself is longer than 2hrs., if that matters)?
  2. A couple of good prgs that support the .BIN & .CUE file-formats are Nero and Alcohol 120%, though I, personally, would recommend Alcohol 120% over Nero. I use that all the time to rip my CD-ROM games to my HD, and to use the virtual DVD (and CD) drive that it creates on my computer, and of course to use the .BINs & .CUEs that I d/l from the torrents. :) You should be able to find one of several copies of this prg being shared on the torrents at any given time.
  3. Never mind this as far as A Bridge Too Far goes. I got tired and bought a retail-copy of it on DVD. You can read about it here ('coz I need some help with dumping it to my HD): http://forums.bitcomet.com/index.php?act=S...st=0#entry17844
  4. I bought a copy of A Bridge Too Far on DVD (from a Virgin Superstore for the low price of $14.95US+Sales Tax and it was the last copy--a real bargain! hehehehe). I wanna dump the whole thing to my HD: all menus; all languages, spoken and texted; (especially) all "partial" subtitles; etc.--EVERYTHING! I'm not picky about the file(s)-format, but I would need it in a format that can be (later) exactly copied to DVDs and playable on DVD players. Smaller file-size would be nice but is not the highest priority. Audio & video quality reproduction is. So how is this done? ???
  5. Hey, thanks! It worked! :D Apparently (according to the Comments on the torrent's page) some people got the file just fine and perfect despite the changing of the file. Some, however, reported that the file was a bit corrupt. But I think that those that begin the d/l after the intial seeding was complete also got the file perfectly, as the replaced source-file on my computer works fine. Thanks again! You rule!
  6. It is because those items are Queued until later. By default, you can only d/l up to 10 items at once. If you want to change this number, go into Options > Preferences > Connection. There will be Task schedule area on there. There, you can change the number for Max Simultaneous Download Tasks. OTOH, I wouldn't recommend that you fool with that default setting. Just wait until one of your ten d/ls is finished, at which time BitComet will automatically un-queue one of the queued items and begin d/ling.
  7. Oh-oh! Bad news! The hash check didn't restore the file to 100% in BitComet. What should I do now, if anything can be done? ???
  8. I've been seeding a big file, this one: http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3531869/Logan_s_Run_[1976]. I made the torrent with MakeTorrent v2.1 and u/led it there at The Pirate Bay with that site as the only tracker. When I began to seed the 4.11GB file, it read in the "%" column in my BitComet, correctly, 100%. I can't seed all of that in one session, so sometimes I close my BitComet to seed more later. Well after a while I took a look at my client and it said--and says--in the "%" column 99.9% instead of 100%, and even though there were many leechers at around 33% almost all of them, the Health column reads 0%! I look at it now and most of the leechers are at around 40%, but Health still reads 0%! 8/ What the h*** is going on!? ??? Just to see if it would help, I right-clicked on it in BitComet to do a Manual Hash Check, but the option is grayed-out. The only guess that I have as to what caused that--though I still don't know what's going on--is that I put some files and folders in the same containing folder of the seeding file, but that containing folder already had some other files and folders in there to begin with. And anyway I'm only seeding a single file in there. I don't wanna seed 99.9%! No way! I wanna seed either the full 100% or none at all. But I really wanna just seed 100%. What's happening? Will all the leechers get 100% of the file? What can I do (and hopefully FFS something short of deleting that torrent, then recreating and resubmitting it, and in the process piss [now] 216 leechers off!)? ??? 8-/ Help! I'm using BitComet v0.7.
  9. Hehehehe! Now that's the way docs should be made! :D Diagrams (pictures), small amounts of text in between the pics, and happy faces smoking BIG joints! YAAAAAYY! hehehehe So when I go to burn a DVD from an .AVI file (or two), I just go buy ordinary blank DVD-R/W discs? Are those the right discs to get? ??? Funky1980 rocks hehehehe [Edit:] Eeh, I'm going to assume that ordinary blank DVD-R/W discs are the correct ones to purchase. I'm pretty sure they'll work just fine hehehehe
  10. Well you should be using v0.7, which can be d/led from here: http://download.bitcomet.com/achive/BitComet_0.70_setup.exe. I say you "should" use that version because I use it and have no such problems.
  11. Okay, moving right along.... I now have two different copies of A Bridge Too Far. The DVD .ISO I got from here: http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/120518/A_Bridge_Too_Far and an .AVI copy (one .AVI file) from here: http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/412856/A...oo_far_ENG_Xvid. As you can see there's a .RAR file in there, 'A_Bridge_too_far_ENG_Xvid.rar', which contains a .SUB file. There's also an .IDX file in there, and I have no idea what an .IDX is, what in the h*** to do with it, and if it matters one iota what I have an .IDX file for in that bundle. I got the CCCP thing (even though I don't care for Socialism hehehehe) that Dark_Shroud mentioned. I found that the included Media Player Classic will play my .AVI files and my DVD images, which is a good thing (however AFAIK, unlike PowerDVD, it will not play DVD files). I tried playing the .AVI of the film on it with the .SUB file (extracted from the .RAR). Unfortunately I got full subtitles--every bit of spoken dialogue, English and non-English, was subtitled, which sucks and is not the partial subtitles that I've been trying to get. (h***, the original movie had partial subtitles for the non-English dialogue, as that's kind of standard anyway! I don't know why someone would rip/copy such a movie without also ripping/copying that as well--it's part of the f***ing movie, goddamnit! >:( ) I couldn't seem to be able to use the .SUB file with my DVD image copy. Okay, so what do I do now? ??? BTW, I looked a bit into subtitle creation. I Googled for some programs, but when it all looked a bit overwhelming (at this time), I thought I'd try to get another copy of the film (the .AVI) for the time being and see what I could do. If need be, I could continue to try looking into that and all.... (Needless to say perhaps, but the DVD image copy is of much better quality than the .AVI rip. So, if possible and feasible, I'd prefer to try to "fix" the DVD image copy over the .AVI rip.)
  12. YAAAAAAYY! kluelos is back! YAAAAAAYY! :D Hmm...well what I want to do is hard-sub those English subtitles into it, 'coz the original film had subtitles for the non-English dialogue. I want them hard-subbed so that they'll always play with the movie, such as on PowerDVD 7 from my HD, or if I want to later burn the DVD to play on DVD players. Of course I don't want to hard-sub subtitles for when the characters speak English. I don't yet know much about formats if anything (other than simple file-formats [.AVI, .MPG, .ISO, etc.]). But I guess I should worry about such formats later when I'm actually going to burn movies to blank DVDs. I'm gonna try that stuff you said. Wish me luck--I hope I do it right hehehehe Thanks again, kluelos! :) kluelos is god! *worships kluelos with much chanting and bowing*
  13. C'mon! I finished d/ling A Bridge Too Far more than a week ago! I'd really like to watch it, and that in full, all normal-like without missing pieces. So could someone please help within this millennium? ??? Or is there not one single person who has knowledge of how this is done?
  14. *sigh!* Okay, forget about .AVI files for a bit.... I was using PowerDVD 7 to watch A Bridge Too Far, a great movie...so I've heard. But right at the beginning of the film, I encountered the problem that I described above. My copy of A Bridge Too Far is not in .AVI but is an .ISO of a DVD, all 4.35GB of it. But despite its size, none of the menus are included. There's a few subtitled languages that can be switched on from PowerDVD's panel, but none of them are English. And as I've said I don't want subtitles throughout the film but only whenever there's non-English being spoken. So what can I do about this? Try to find another copy of the movie and d/l that too, even though the audio & video quality of this copy is primo...? ??? I'd hope there would be a much more simple and quick solution than all that!
  15. Okay, but I have (at least) one more question: Is there any way to get my present players to do "partial" subtitles? Do I need some...special kind of .SRT or .SUB files that will give me the "partial" subtitles that I need instead of all subtitles? ('Coz I don't have those. [Perhaps I can aquire them if needed.])
