  1. my friend saids that everytime i stop or resume a download i should always do a hash check with bitcomet, or else the file might get corroupt or something, my pc is stable and i do follow his advice whenever my pc crash while bitcomet is running, horever most of the time i forgot to do this regularly, although most of my files ened up ok, i was wondering weather i really nned to follow my friend's advice for good. please help, many thanks
  2. clearly there is no seeders on the torrent i'm downloading right now, but yet, i watch as other leechers began to reach 100% one by one, then disappears, how is this possible? i don't know weather i should stop or continue downloading, like i said, no seeders, but some people still get to 100% please help me.
  3. so norton firewall pops up and tells me about a remote system is ATTEMPTING to access bitcomet, i then block it, afterwards i close bitcomet and start it up again, all my torrent files now refuse to connect, reporting: CAN"T CONNECT TRACKER ERROR 11004 what should i do? please help me i beg you!
  4. so i should only run 1 client at the same time correct? also i would like tp know if the offical bittorent client supports private trackers? thanks for helping.
  5. is it safe for me to run 2 bittorrent clients at the same time on a single pc? for example, running both the offical bittorent client and bitcomet at the same time, is it safe for my pc? or should i just use one client at a time? thanks for helping.
  6. i'm just worried about my hardrive being damage when bitcomet was downloading and writing data to a sensitive part of the system such as IE temp, do you think my hardrive is damage? well i was thinking of something like say, a virus, for example, writes 1 trillion data to critial parts of windows, windows refuse but it keeps writing and the hardrives spins in a bad manner and get's perma damage. i'm just worried about my hardrive, that's all i care. thanks so much for your help, i'll reinstall bitcomet, wouldn't know what to do if it weren't for you, so thank you. thanks so much for all your help.
  7. ok i use windows xp win sp2, 80gb sata. NO VIRUS, i had avg/norton/firewall, i scan my pc everyday, i think it's very clean. when you said: "will download to what ever folder you have set to default, or that you select when starting the torrent." what did you meant by that? i had everything to default, never change any settings in bitcomet. BY DEFAULT bitcomet always save everything in it's "download" folder MOST OF THE TIME, like i said, SOMETIMES it saves it to where-ever i place the torrent file. eg: i place the torrent file in my desktop, open it with bitcomet and download begins, after it's complete the downloaded file is saved ON my desktop, insted of the folder in bitcomet, this doesn't happen alot, just random.
  8. i've never been so angry , but bitcomet did something stupid today, very stupid. i click on a torrent file, and open it without saving it, bitcomet begins downloading as usual. after the file is complete, i click on the "open dir" in bitcomet, then my cpu starts working really hard, and it took 1 min for a window to pop up, and guess where my file is at? IT"S IN THE IE TEMPORARY FOLDER, AND IT'S NOT JUST IN THE TEMP FOLDER, IT'S DEEP INSIDE THE ABYSS OF THE TEMP FOLDER, WHERE ALL THE SCUM DATA AND AD LEFTOVERS ARE!!! THAT'S WHERE BITCOMET SAVE MY FILE!!!!1 WHAT IN THE WORLD IS BITCOMET DOING SAVING IT THERE???!!! something similer has happened before, once i download a torrent file and put it in the my picture folder, i open the torrent file with bitcomet and launch the downlaod, after it's done, i found it insted of being in the downlaod folder of bitcomet, it ended up in the my pictures folder, messing all my photo order up. but that was nothing compared to this, why did bitcomet save my downloaded file in IE temp folder, that's crazy, i think we all know how messy the temp folder is, don't we? bitcomet open that fole=der up and let lose all the spyware and crap all over my pc, what the F is wrong with bitcomet? what on earth was it doing? and i'm also worried about my hardrive being damage when bitcomet was downloading and saving and writing data to a sensitive part of the system such as IE temp, that's just crazy! now my hardrive is damage, what was bitcomet doing!!!!???? post and tell me what's i did wrong, this hasn't happened before.
  9. what did you mean by that? well i do have a file that's still downloading in bitcomet when i shut off my internet connection, and since i didn't notice it, it continue to download for a while. A friend of mine told me this, he also told me not to download beyond the speed of 300kb or my hardrive will fail or break faster, he also told me to only download 1 torrent at a time, so is all this real? Many thanks for the help.
  10. well iwas downloading a file from bitcomet, since i know it's gonna take a while, i minimize bitcomet to my taskbar (where the clock is), and continue working. after a while i was infected with a virus, to ensure my files are safe i click on norton's "BLOCK TRAFFIC", which is used to stop all internet connection, HOWEVER i FORGOT to STOP the download in bitcomet, as the result bitcomet was still running when norton stoped my internet connection, and of course with my torrent still downlaoding. while i was fixing my pc, i repeatedly block and unblock my internet connections, i completely forgot bitcomet was still running in the background, while i perform a scan with norton, i completely stop the internet for nearly 1 hour, after the scan waas complete i resume internet connection and eventually realised the exsistance of bitcomet, but i'm now very worried, and here are some questions i would like to ask: -when i stopped all my internet connections for an hour with bitcomet still running and my torrent still downloading, was there any damage done to my pc? i heard that running bittorent and cutting the internet connection while it's still downloading can cause PERMANENT damage to the lan card AND the hardrive, since data is still being written or something, is this possible, is my lan card or hardrive damage? please i beg of oyu, please help me T_T thanks
