  1. Hello Kluelos This quirk has been resolved. Apparently all that was needed was a reboot after I set to default. The settings now 'stick'...tested and all is fine. Thanks again
  2. Did you look at File -> Page Setup? Yes...which takes me to Print Preview-> Page Setup. Same exact window.
  3. Hello friends I printed a picture last week where I did not want any margins (i.e. print right up to the edge of the sheet of paper). Worked fine. I had changed the print preview - page setup - margins and headers/footers to: '0'. Now, whenever I print any webpage, I get the same result. I would like to set the margins back to default, whatever that is. I can change the margins and headers/footers to any number (except .5 apparently) and it will stay and resolve the issue. Yet, other than eying it, I prefer to set these numbers to whatever the standard is; presumably the default. The World WIDE Web is void of this answer. I have gone to about:config and found several entries such as this: print.printer_HP_Deskjet_F4200_series.print_edge_bottom_ (etc) and all were set to '0'. I change those setting to default from user set. I don't know if that was the right thing to do but nothing changed. When I went back to about:config my changes were not kept. I did close out CB. When I want to print a webpage I click print preview - page setup - margins and headers/footers and see that .5 is the setting for all sides. Yet my printing show no margins all the way to the page edge. I regret changing the margins for that one copy. It is not the printer. I also have Firefox installed. Going to the same webpage and using Firefox to print that same page gives me what appears to be standard margins. The margins and headers/footers are set to the same .5 as in CB. I would like, when I print webpages with CB, the resulting image to print on a sheet of paper showing normal recessed borders. How do I set CB back to where is was before I changed the margins and headers/footers to zero and have it stick? I always have the most recent version of CometBird. Presently, I am using Vista 32. Thanks for your hard work.
  4. When I right click on an image and select "save image as", a "save image" window pops up. This window fills my whole desktop and is not adjustable. I then closed CometBird and opened Firefox. The "save image" window is normal in that it can be any size I choose by simply placing my cursor on an edge and adjusting the window to any size I wish. Again, in CometBird, this window will not adjust; even though I place my cursor on any edge, which changes the cursor into a two sided arrow, it will not adjust. How about that!<_<
  5. Thanks for the reply. I got the gist of your message but the plugin folder for both browsers was not in (%appdata%)[i looked and could not find them.] I just went to the programs folder and did as you suggested. For me, that worked. Thanks
  6. Example this link to an apartment complex website: www regencysquareyuma com There is a "click here to download plugin" Can't. Must install manually. Yet, when I do this nothing happens!? I also have Firefox installed and there is no problem with that browser and that same website. If you go to the site noted you will see what I am experiencing, (or not..) I have rebooted. Suggestions? CometBird/3.6.12 Vista 32 home premium
  7. This has not occurred before on any other version of this browser or any other. I have not performed a re-install because this action is not terribly inconvenient. Bazaar is the right word though. This original post, as is my other re: scrolling, is for your general awareness of this quirk and if others experience this, they will realize they are not alone. I took me awhile to post this because I continued to believe it wasn't happening. It is just too... what? But I decided it needs to be known to the authors and should be addressed. On my very first post: "Bookmarks open new tab" I was unaware that the creators of this browser were very present here on the board and I was expecting an answer to my question to be unsubstantial eventually leading to Hitler. I see this is not the case here. I did read all suggested materials beforehand thought it was not evident that the creators of the browser answered virtually exclusively which is unheard of in my experience on the web. From the tenor of the answers, I came off shall we say: impolite. I regret that. Thanks for your hard work.
  8. When I click a link to go to another site from within an article or a search engine selection, and then go to that link's site, scrolling the new article on the new site also scrolls the original site from where the link to the current page originated, all on the same tab!:o I don't think it happens all the time, but it does happen... often. After I read the new article, I have generally scrolled to the bottom of the new article. When I then 'go back one page' the original site has scrolled down to where I was in depth in the article I had just read! If I used the link in the original site to clarify the original page, I will generally want to go back to continue reading the original page from where I left off. I must then scroll UP on the original site to get to where I was when I clicked the link. I use Vista Premium 32 w/all the updates and CB 3.6.8. No other browser had displayed the behavior on my setup. Thanks for your hard work.
  9. Whenever I open a new CB ver. 3.6.8 my home page, or I should say my first tab, resist scrolling. I will roll the mouse wheel, the page jerks down, then jerks back in a manner which appears as if it is fighting the scroll feature. The previous iteration did not do this. I changed no feature as I migrated from 3.6.6 to this version. The quick workaround is: open a new CB, immediately open a second tab [same home page] and close the first. Therein, I have no problem. If I were to stay on the first tab, all websites have this affliction, not just the home page, which is Bing FYI. Thanks for your hard work.
  10. Thank you greywizard for the very timely and accurate response. I regret using the word "problem". As you noted a "problem" to one may be a feature to another and I should have used the word feature. I may be swimming upstream on this one but I bet that if you examined the browser on anybody's computer that the settings/look/features would be different on every single one! (except for a non-techie who may keep all defaults) Realizing this, it is fine that the default is different than my wishes - but a easy-find toggle switch would be appropriate. Now...I have the perfect browser!
  11. When I click on a bookmark from the bookmark links bar, a new tab opens on each link I click. I want to open these links in the same tab which I already have opened, as in Firefox. If you don't have an answer which fixes this specific problem, please do not respond to say "have you tried this" or "you need to look around your tools-options-settings", because these are not answers. I see that another has posted this problem and the question was danced around and distorted even though, as I read the question, it was perfectly clear what he was asking. He gave up. I will too if there is no answer and CometBird is simply this way. To suggest that I use another browser is also not an answer, so don't go there. You see, all these non-responses show up on the main page as actual responses and then, possibly, someone with the real answer may not bother to view the question. I also use Firefox. I have mirrored the tools-options-setting as well as the tab plus addon options settings. Yet, those exact settings in Firefox do not command the same results. I am testing ComentBird because the newest update for Firefox has cause the browser to hang constantly. I have to close that browser and reopen it to continue. I prefer to not do that and I am hoping that CometBird will be a good replacement. Firefox and CometBird both have a game-breaker feature for me: I can zoom in on a webpage and the page does not distort as do Safari, Chrome, and IE. AND, the zoom setting remains forever whereas in these other browsers the distorted zoom has to be reset every single time I access the same webpage. Thanks w1_m2
