  1. Hi! Well. I logged on using my password manager (Dashlane) which does this automatically. I got tired of remembering each and every password, and I've been using this manager at the time I was active on Bitcomet too. When I logged on to my Comet ID, and went to Bitcomet from there, I first made sure to download the latest version (mine was still the 37), after it was installed I removed the old version. When I open now I get a little pop up asking me for my password, and after filling in my Comet ID password it says it's invalid and I should try again. Problem is, I don't get/see any menu that provides me with the option to either retrieve, or to make up a new password. All the data on my Comet ID is correct btw. I hope this information helps to shine a light? Thanks for your time! :mellow:

  3. Hi! It's been well over a year since I last used Bitcomet to download, and though I expected to be a little rusty at the process, the following I can't wrap my head around. I just downloaded the latest version of BC, and logged on to Comet ID with no problems (Dashlane passw. man.). As soon as I opened BC the pop up asks me for my password, so I enter my Comet ID password and it tells me it's invalid :huh:? Am I too dumb when I don't understand why this happens? (probably <_<) As far as I can remember I used to be able to log on with my CID password, or did I get it all mixed up in the meantime? The only changes are my modem, which is now a router-modem (got it from my provider when changing my subscription for faster internet); all the settings on my laptop (firewall etc) have remained the same, that's why I don't get it. I hope it's just a stupid mistake on my side :( (well, sort of..), so you can set me right and point me in the right direction again? Thanks for taking the time to respond.
  4. Ah, okay! Yep, well, it all sounds very familiar: greed and smallmindedness (is that even a word?) the root of many evil. Here in Holland it's Buma-Stemra (musicbiz) that's causing a lot of aggravation. You would think they'd be a little more flexible after making tons of money, but l guess it'll never be enough for some.. Thanks for the reply! Jeanette ~: )
  5. This week l read that isoHunt has shut down after their struggle, and signed a $110 million settlement with the MPAA. lf a big fish like l.H. can be mowed down, what are the chances that the others will share the same fate in the near future? :unsure:

Thanks for the tip! l might replace it with a less intrusive sound, maybe an angelic harpscale lol... l'm pleasantly surprised by the fact that not only one, but two, BC administrators(!) were the ones to solve my problem so aptly; l would've been content with just the first response by queeniequ, but to get an 2nd one (out of the blue) that complements the 1st is really uplifting. (can you tell l spent time on youtube/google forums? lol) Thanks both of you, have a great week! ~: )
  7. YIHAAAAAAAA... My inner terriër wouldn't give up, so l tried a few more search options and finally entered: %appdata% BINGO, there's the desired file! Since l'm also a sceptic, l had to test it and... IT WORKS!!! Listen, thank you sooo much, no more semi-heart attacks when a download is completed; you have no idea the difference that makes for me. (l almost feel like breaking out in a song..) :D :D :D

Since l'm a noobie l haven't got any 'deep' questions yet, just one for the mo: Can anyone tell me PLEASE, before l start needing heartmeds, HOW do l lower that high pitch sound that lets me know my download is finished? lt's so flipping loud, it makes me jump to the ceiling everytime, it's really disturbing. H E L P . . . (and hopefully l can find my way back here to see if there's an answer 4 me) Thanx! ~: )
