  1. Hi, In addition to the sorting capability of the files inside the torrent, it would be really cool if one could not only limit the amount of kB/s up- and download speed of each torrent, but also limit the amount of connections for that specifi torrent. I have some torrents with hundreds of sources and as they are all slow, I would like that one to connect to as many peers as possible. But if you have a maximum total of connections (in my case about 500) and have multiple torrents, then other torrents will use up connections that I don't want them to use. Being able to limit the less important torrents to like 10 connections would allow them to download while not disturbing the more important torrents. Thanks for listening and good night B) :)
  2. Hi, Sorry, but I need some help and can't figure it out with the tutorials supplied here. For one, whenever I do a port test from one of the websites, it always states my port was closed. But I opened it in my D-Link 624+ router and I have downloaded with full line speed numerous times before. Azureus always claimed my DHT didn't work, but I don't know how to check that and my BitComet alwas tells me thta I am connected to a DHT Node. The other problem is, that there is always talk of setting the maximum total connections to below 200 if using my router. However there is no such option in Bitcomet. So how do I do that? And won't it significantly slow me down it I only have a total of 200 connections? At the moment I usually have around 500 connections permanently and I am allowing 600 per torrent.
  3. Sorry, I wasn't aware of that. Is it going to be in the next release or beta?
  4. Hi, When you view the files within the torrent whilst downloading, you cannot sort by percentage or by filename or by priority or anything. Would it be possible to activate this? It would make managing the downloads much easier. Thanks, P.
  5. So, which one is better and why? I have a DI-624+ and speed is not an issue. However it seems that every few hours it crahses for a few seconds and boots back up again. Performance is set to highest in order to get a connection but it also happens when set to low. So, would the DrayTek be a solution; is it a perfect router or will I have similar problems or maybe other problems?
  6. Use Media PLayer Classic to play back the files on your computer. Don't forget to install the codecs (FFDShow, Realmedia and Quicktime) first. If you want to write the files to a DVD and be able to play them in a standalone player you will need to convert them unless your player supports the formats they are in (XviD, DivX, Realmedia, Qicktime, MPEG etc.). If you just want to write the files on DVD without altering them and without being able to play them on a standalone player, then simply use your Bitcomet to download Nero Burning Rom or some other program, like DVDSanta.
  7. Hi, I really need to know this because I just turned everything onto "no limit" and with the maximum upload of 20-25kb/s my download just drops from 250 down to 70-80kb. So I REALLY need to know whether Bitcomet or Torrents in general demand a minimum upload speed setting in order to allow maximum download. e.g. in eMule you have to set the minimum upload speed to 11kb in order to get full bandwidth download. In Azureus I think you need 6kb or something like that. So, is there some kind of minimum the servers demand or BitComet demands? Or can I set my upload to whatever I want and it will work until my quota drops to like 0.1? And do the servers receive the overall quota of my BitComet (for instance if I had downloaded a total of 200GB and uploaded a total of 100GB, would the servers get this info) or do the servers only register the quota/ratio for the file I just started to download. And do the servers see what my setting for the upload speed is or just see at which speed I am currently uploading (so you know whether it is better to limit the upload speed inside Bitcomet or inside NetLimiter)? I think these questions would help a lot of people find the ideal settings and participate more effectively. Thank you and I hope someone will be willing to help me. Kindest regards.
  8. btw, this version is extremly slow! If a download is finished, even if just a 3MB download, the system will just stop and bitcomet stops reacting. Same if you enter the preferences whilst bitcomet is working (e.g. hashing) in the background. This version of BitComet does not seem to be able to handle resources properly.
  9. Third: Maybe it's just my computer but if you set the max half open too high the computer starts loosing more connections than he actually seems to connect. It's as if he tripped over his own feet because they were going faster than he is.
  10. Hi, The new beta doesn't let you limit your download and upload speed independently anymore. Apparently your download gets limited when your upload is set too low. This wasn't the case in the past. So, what upload must I set in order to be able to use full download speed? I can download with close to 300kbyte/s but my upload speed is a mere 20kbyte/s (which sucks, I know!!!). But if I set it to anything above 8-10kbyte/s upload speed, my download speed drops rapidly. So, what's the maximum download speed Bitcomet will allow me if I set my upload to 6-10kbyte/s? And is it possible (if so, how) to set the upload speed to unlimited in my client and limit it externally? My router or provided do not offer this, so I would need some kind of software, I guess.
  11. Hi, Everytime I update BitComet I uninstall all previous versions and files and only keep the torrent files bitcomet saves into its torrent directory. Unfortunatly, bitcomet does not save the information as to the download directory or the percentage of the files it has downloaded. Nor which parts of the file I wanted to download. Would it be possible to integrate this into a new version? That way, if you for some reason have to clean install BitComet you can open the torrent files saved by bitcomet and you will automatically have the right directory, the right percentages and very important, the correct parts. You don't have to select all the internal aprts again. Thanks!
  12. Hi, I love that you can now Hash files simultaniously but when and why was the upload/download limit introduced? Now you can't set the two independently. How can I limit my DSL upload-speed externally?
