  1. ulp, hold your horses :( I was able to pin point what the exact problem is. This is actually an issue with creative sound and not bitcomet (eax advanced HD 4.0). I think it would be better If you guys ignored this issue because.... well, its not just bitcomit that freezes my computer. scenario - with bitcomit, after a dl finishes, it was the audio that is played that freezes my computer. With no script (a add on for firefox), it would freeze my computer when the audio is played warning me about a malicious script on a website. there could be more programs that would freeze my computer. Heck, I'm surprised the audio internet explorer plays about pop up blockers didn't freeze it. So yea, in my opinion, I would ignore this and let creative sound fix the issue. There is a bass option that when it is enabled, it begins to clash with other programs for some reason. They have been informed of the issue so I'm hoping they will fix this cause I really like creative sound. edit - I would at least lower the volume of that beep though ;)
  2. ah, dude, I wish you posted this sooner xD Thanks for the link. I'll use this in case I have future problems.
  3. O.... My.... Freaken... GOD!!! After 12 hours of trying to stop bitcomet from freezing (after a dl is finished), I found what the problem is. I don't know y it is causing problems but the svchost that was causing issues was windows audio and windows audio endpoint builder. I was like wow..... but then I remembered, the only audio bitcomit has was that loud beep when a download is finished (that beep beep sound is way too loud btw). So I turned back on windows audio an endpoint builder and unchecked "Sound play when task finished" under task and that fixed my problem. Why is this happening? Is it one or more of the audio programs on my asus g73jh? IT ISN'T AN ISSUE WITH BITCOMIT because bit commit (latest ver) works just fine on my other computer with windows 7 so Its defiantly an audio program on my computer. ess Well, I kinda solved my own problem but it took me 12 hours. Not sure if I helped out in any way to improve bitcomit but I guess the best I can do is post what audio stuff I have (just got it two days ago factory state). -EAX Advanced HD 4.0 -Realtek HD Audio Manager/drivers -Sound Blaster Audigy HD -ffdshow v1.1.3452 for 64 bit OS Well, I guess its safe to say that one or more of the 4 above is conflicting with what ever process bitcomit uses to create that beep sound which then freezes windows 7. Ok, its 2:00am for me so I'm going to sleep now. Night :) I want a reward for this xD
  4. wait there is a difference? Well, now I know. Umm, I spent all freaken day trying to fix the problem and I sorta found which process it is on the task manager but I'm not sure how to distinguish between them. the process is called "svchost.exe" (I'm 100% sure of this as I did lots of test and comparisons between both my computers with win 7 64 bit on them) and I have 13 of these task total running right now. One (or more Not sure) of these is causing bitcomet to freeze once a download is finished. The problem I'm having is when I end one, it comes back after a few seconds. There is one or two specifically that causes windows to restart automatically so I'm trying to avoid those. at that point, I just randomly ended a couple svchost.exe's while downloading in bitcomet and it didn't freeze. so my final question is, how can I distinguish between each one? Is there a way to disable them one by one completely? Once I know this, I can find out which one it is.
  5. I googled how to use that mem program and I'm gonna hold up on that. Someone suggested using bitcomet in safe mode with networking and see if it works. So after I downloaded something, it worked. So they suggested one of my processors are clashing with bitcomet. I have about 77 processors running so I think that sounds about right. Any thoughts on this? I'll start finding out which program it is if that is the case and I'll post which it was here.
  6. thx for your response. Running as administrator didn't help, it actually made it worse cause now I couldn't dl a torrent from a site. I downloaded the img as you instructed and burned it on a disk but I can't boot from the cd. What am I suppose to do? I double clicked on boot and i get this message "the file is invalid for use as the following: security catalog." When I double clicked mem test, it just asks if I want to burn on a disk.
  7. Hello. I have v 1.21 installed on my windows 7 64 bit os. Bit commet keeps freezing my computer after I finish a download. Does anyone know of a solution to fix this? more detail - the minute the pop up comes up that says "your download is completed" it turns transparent, starts to fade, then my computer freezes. This has happened twice so far. my computer - g73jh-a1 win 7 64 bit - i7-720xm - hd 5870 - 8 gigs of ram
