  1. I urge you to uninstall that and install ffdshow instead. K-Lite packages installs a lot of bloated filters and messes up your system. Even if it still works, it still installs a lot of crap. http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm
  2. It is possible to set/review permissions on XP Professional & NTFS file system. If you do not have NTFS then permissions are not the problem here. To set permissions you should make sure "Use simple file sharing" is unticked in folder options. This will make the Security tab pop up in the properties dialog of files and folders. Here you can set or see permissions.
  3. Some fake torrents lie about peers/seeds too to draw attention for people to donwload it.
  4. You are usually invited by someone. Someone who knows you or if you do them a good impression, maybe? All you need to download the movie is a torrent and there are a lot of torrent sites. However, there are lots of "fake" torrents around the web with this, so watch out. By fake, it means it isn't the movie you want. To identify fakes, watch the file size (shouldn't be too low), peers/seeds (sometimes fake torrents exaggerate) and the date it was submitted (remember it's been out only a few days).
  5. .bin is a CD/DVD Image, it's not a video file. You'll have to wait until download finishes and extract its contents. Deamon Tools can help mount images.
  6. If you add the incomplete torrent files and direct them to a source where you've previously downloaded some of the torrent, it will automatically hash check. If you get wrong % or 0%, then it might also be that you have an incorrect torrent file (ie, contains other contents than you've downloaded.)
  7. Do you have the old torrent files left? If so, then add it again. If not, then find you'll have to find a new torrent which contains the same files. Add the torrent, and point the download location to where you've previously downloaded. It should resume.
  8. Yes, you can. Copy the downloaded files and the torrents (usually in bitcomet\torrents). Add the torrents on your new computer and direct the place to download the files to where your old data is. This will resume your downloads.
  9. I don't think this was directed at you, but caf4926. Sorry for the confusion. I know full well what Matroska is :) No? Well, install it then use GraphEdit and open a file and you'll probably see how much junk filters it has added to the graph. Indeed, if you install wrong filters, it can for example make the video appear flipped. I've experienced this before and I have been keeping tabs on this like this. If you would ask in a forum concerning this kind of things, I think they too would tell you to avoid packs. Use ffdshow instead. It can work. Sometimes it won't, and even if it does work it still probably installs a lot of junk filters that are added to the grraph. Also, ffdshow has the advantage of a lot of options, like post processing (deblocking among them), noise reduction, volume normalization, etc. And that's why I recommend to stay away from them :)
  10. You could try to right-click on a file and select open folder or what it is called to make bitcomet open the folder where the file is downloaded. Give it a try!
  11. My adviceces are, in order: Check if there are seeds and that you are connected to them. Stop the file & do a manual hash check. Be patient.
  12. First off, you don't need matroska packs to play matroska files. Haali media splitter is all you need and it plays the perfectly. And second here, codec packs should be AVOIDED if possible since they can basically screw up your system. As already stated, ffdshow is probably the best filter collection all-in-one solution that doesn't screw up your system. To recap, haali + ffdshow + player of choice should be able to play those files.
  13. Converting from FAT32 to NTFS will gain you nothing in disk space. However, if you format your drive or use a utility to change the cluster size, you can set it to 512 bytes which should save you a good deal of space. Otherwise NTFS won't help you save space.
  14. XP's built-in firewall is just as bad. Leave it alone if you can.
  15. Press y when it asks to dismount. If it says it can't dismount, press y to schedule it for the next reboot. Then reboot your computer. I'm pretty sure you can't convert to NTFS without a reboot anyway.
