ClaretSi
I have downloaded 2 files. A .mdf and a .mds file. for a PC game. I have extracted them using Isoblaster and from the resulting files i have installed the game on my hard drive. When i try and run the game it asks for the CD. I have copied the files onto a CD/R using Nero but to no avail. Where am i going wrong? Have i copied the right files? WHat kind of media do i use? CD/R or DVD/R? Any software i should be getting to help me do this? I guess its a common thing to do so somebody should know something surely? Oh and i dont want a virtual drive copy of the game. I would prefer it on disk.
pugsmoo
hey mate were the file winrar files first? if so can you extract them using winrar? also once you extracted them how did you install the game on your hardisk? I've done it before but the game came with an info.file usaully you have open it with notepad. in there the person who put the game up for download has instructions on how to get it going usually there is a crack you have to download and replace one of the games files with... so hopefully you can find the info file to help you out? as with the virtual drive, everyone seems to want to go that way so i think most instructions lean to a virtual mount
timken
Hi, Look inside your burned CD, you should find a folder named "crack" or "patch", inside it are instructions of which files to replace or "patch" , in order "to fool the game" so it thinks you have a valid original CD.
