keeper
I am one of the Network Engineer's at Oregon State University. We had a new wireless client on our wireless system using BitCom last week that caused an network performance issue with thier BItCom client. I didn't see any problems while the users was connected to our wireless system. But once they disconnected, connection attempts from other BitCom clients continued for more than 18 hours later. While this was not much of an issue for this one user, if we were to have one or two dozen of our 1,000+ concurrent wireless clients running BitComet, we would probably see a performance issue. Additional info . . . a small portion of our wireless network is using a new system called Aruba that has an optional stateful firewall that was detecting this activity. By September we will have a statefull firewall protecting our wireless clients. Is there anything the client can do to mitigate this issue? --Mark Keppinger Senior Network Security Anaylst Oregon State University
