complexity Posted September 11, 2006 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Help!! I have been trying to work out why my connections are always so terrible and know I know why.. Thanks to the worst adsl provider in the world.. Telkom South Africa.. they transparent proxy port 80 and port shape like its nobodys business.. nevermind the 3Gig cap and charging $98 a month for it.. the prob is: BitComet RESOLVES the IP address of the transparent PROXY not the true IP address of the connection. Essential "listening" becomes impossible on any port as the torrent is "advertised" on the wrong IP. As I use certain DynDns type programs I have noticed that some of these programs detect the wrong IP (ie:the proxy) instead of the actual IP but there are other programs that always detect the right one.. so it must be possible to fix.
