rubbish data dropped - like 90%

I'm using BitComet 0.70 and WinXP and lately on several torrents I get this weird s*** with huge amounts of rubbish data dropped and my KB/s saying way more than I normally get.

I look at the peers and the numbers add up to 7 KB/s down but it says I'm gettin 104 KB/s down.

This happens even connecting on different unsecured wireless networks with different routers so maybe it's a bug? The network I'm on now is slow as s***, I'm lucky to get 10 KB/s down.

There's no way someone is actually sending me that amount of bad data, it's not physically possible.
