I second the motion for a built in search database.

it is really not necessary if the window butters you just select minimize to try on start up,if the icon butter you winxp hides unused trey icons,is you are worried if bitcomet is slowing down your computer, don't bitcomet has a very small memory and cpu consumption when it is not doing something. And if you are not downloading something just be a nice person and seed some torrents.

version 0.77 has the stop and start button only the pause has been removed because it did more or less the same thing as stop

The torrent protocol is designed to be annoying to the newest downloader for the good of the swarm. When you start you get the rarest peace, even if this is annoying you will be happy to know is for your one good eventually. EX: did this ever happen to you? You and every one else got stuck with the download at 98% or something like that? Well if the protocol was changed to download the most common peace at the beginning you will get huge download speeds with slowly decrees towards the end, but here is the bad part if they do that then 90%+ of all your downloads will be stuck for weakest at 98% or something waiting fore some one to give them the missing part. Isn’t that more annoying.

I have a cable connection of 1.5MB\s(in theory) and I get sometimes only 10KB\s it all depends on where you download from(from where you download) if you download for example from share.gamesbv.ro(a torrent tracker from Brasov, Romania) and you are from New York, USA you will get download speeds of 10-20KB\s.If you download from share.gamesbv.ro and you are in Brasov, Romania you will get download speed of 900-950KB\s.If you are in Romania(not in the city of Brasov)you will get 300-500kb\s.The isp will affect speed. Try a nonstandard port, always encrypt the traffic and try to use a tracker near you.

IP range baning is not as affective as you may think with a decent rooter you can choose whatever IP you want, I cam make it look like i am from USA, Canada,UK,Russia,.... ANY country.

If some one is downloading from you and is not uploading ban it for 5 minuets and if some one is is really giving you a bead time ban it for 24 h.I had a similar problem, a torrent with a 90 utorrent peers and 5 non utorrent peers,and a speed ratio of 5kb/s download 2.3mb/s upload, by baning all the utorrent peers i opened slots for non utorrent peers and the ratio went to 65kb/s download 15kb/s upload. I recommended baning utorrent peers that are not giving you at lease as much upload as you are giving them.

Also check if you have sufficient free space to download.
