jgf
I noticed that Limewire is a P2P program, so could I dump it and use bitcomet for my music needs also? Can I filter bitcomet to just search for music files?
greywizard
BitComet does not "search" for any type of file. You're using web search engines of torrent index sites to perform the search operation. Even though they are accessible from the client's interface. Depending on what search engine you use, you can see what filtering possibilities you have available. As far as BitComet is concerned all files are the same; it trades torrent contents by using pieces as a trading unit, not files. Furthermore, Limewire is a hybrid client which uses the Gnutella and BitTorrent Networks. OTOH BitComet is mainly a BitTorrent client which can perform cross-network collaborative downloads from also the eDonkey and Kad Networks through the aid of its eMule plugin. Which one client you use highly depends on which networks you intend to access in the first place.
