I just attached a wireless router (LinkSys Wireless-G WRT54GP2-VD) and the download speed immediatley slowed down and the listening port is off. I am not sure what to check or uncheck from the router options so the download goes back to normal speed and I'll be able to use both my desktop PC directly to the cable coming from the router and my laptop PC anywhere in my house. kluelos Posted April 19, 2010 Share Posted April 19, 2010 The slowdown would pretty much follow. Your router has a built-in firmware firewall which is going to block your listen port. You will need to forward the port through the firewall to allow others to contact you. There's an entire topic devoted to this, with examples and explanations, in the Guides forum.
