kluelos Posted May 23, 2011 Share Posted May 23, 2011 WIn7 installs a lot of really oddball typefaces and calls them "mandatory" while not installing many that are actually useful. One of the big cleanup issues after installing Win7 is to clean up the typefaces. Which are still not "fonts". 12 points is a font. 14 points is a font. Arial is a typeface. Subtitle displays depend on having the correct typeface installed for the language. Otherwise Windows makes its best guess for a substitute, and its best guess isn't very good.
