Besides your Ip needs to be shared with the swarm so people can connect to you. There are only two things you can really do, a)use a good firewall & b)use Peer Guardian 2. Peer Guardian blocks known bad IPs. During install use these three lists: p2p, ads, & spyware. You don't want to block people using their college lans.
