Hexsist
Hii, im using bitcomet for a month now and i had been using it all the time without problems until this afternoon.. My Channel TAB which hosts much of the cool links i use to scurry around and find my torrents are GONE! i don't know how this could've happened- i don't change anything ever on this pc.. Is it maby a coinsidence that i cant visit(somtimes i don't even detect)Thepiratebay and properly display the images etc.. my antivirus gives me alot of warnings when i enter- but eventually it goes silent, i just hope THIS isn't the cause of all my woes.. i regularly update BitDefender(Std ed.) which is always active! - I don't need a resolve urgently but it's a irretation that i would like to get sorted out as soon as possible !! Thanks B)
kluelos
I assume you mean the tab itself is gone, not some part of the contents? The tab can be slid closed, which may be what happened to you. Move your mouse pointer to the left window border, where there's a sort of double line. You can grab the inside line and drag the tab open again. You may need to play with this a little to get it. nflder
If Hexsist means that some of the content of the Channel Tab has vanished...so has mine. I used to have a long list of stuff there....favourites, torrent sites ect. Now the only thing listed is all tasks. I didn't change any settings, don't know why it disappeared. Any idea on how to get it back?

charlie_bird
My torrent site links are gone but the task folders are all still there??!! Yes. There were links to various torrent sites in the lft hand pane under the "all tasks" tree. I used these almost exclusively for my searches. They were updated dynamically whenever the cleint started and now they are GONE! I'm using version 0.59. Can anyone tell me wht to do to resolve this? Hexsist
I am having exactly the Same problem as described above.. I seen something peculiar.. this is waht i located in my Transfer-log: "Default tracker optimization rules file loaded. IP rules file: ipfilter.dat loaded, 0 entries. Neither of which should apply to this problem. I assume your torrents still work.. I just finished cleaning out some malware / adware in the past couple of days using spybot etc. Have you done anything similar? I'm wondering if i have deleted something I shouldn't have.. The problem is that the torrant sites are not being listed. I have the buttons (channel, search, IE) also have the all task folder with leech only, seed only with the subs, reseed only and chatrooms) The Websites are missing
parto
Is there a way to fix this problem at all? I'm suffering the same fate to others in this tread.
kluelos
The contents of the channel pane are controlled by various .XML files in your program directory and subs. That's nominally C:\Program Files\Bitcomet There should be a file "favorite.xml" in that directory, so check for its presence, permissions and content (it can be opened with notepad). In the "fav" subdirectory are more xml files, one for each supported language. You need to determine the correct file for you and check it likewise. It MIGHT be a simple permission problem, though I doubt this. Unfortunately, if they're gone, there isn't much you can do except hope you find them in the recycle bin and restore them. Many of us simply close the channel tab and never use it, preferring to use our own favorite web browsers to do searching and bookmarking, instead of the rather crippled version of MSIE that comes with BitComet. charlie_bird
Kluelos thanks for your reply. I'm using version .59. in my favorites directory I have the files: my_fav.xml, fav_en_us.xml (with a bunch of others for given languages), seach_en_us.mht, search_zh_cn.mht, web_en_us.mht. I have bitcomet.xml and downloads.xml in my C: program files / bitcomet directory. There isn't any type of favorites in the C: program files / bitcomet directory. Can you confirm that I'm missing a file? I've checked the recycle bin. Do I need to re-install to recover?
charlie_bird
It's fixed now. Just started working on it's own, with no changes on my side. I assume it's something that comes from a webserver or the like
Dark_Shroud
Nope, its a part of BC, that most people don't use. Next time click on the "View" option in the menu bar and make sure "favorites" is checked.
