smaguire19
I just bought a new laptop that runs Windows 8. I have BitComet 1.36. Whenever I run the program, folders appear on my desktop; folders that exist in the BitComet folder (Rules, Cache, Archive, Torrents, Share, etc). By default, there is a folder on the desktop called 'BitComet' that contains these exact folders that appear on the desktop. I ran BitComet on my previous laptop and did not have this issue of folders popping up. Is there an easy solution to this? My program runs just fine. I just like my desktop to be tidy, that's all. Any help you can provide would be great. Thanks!
The UnUsual Suspect
Sounds like you either installed bitcomet to your desktop or you're running a portable version from your desktop. When properly installed these folders/files will be located either in %appdata% or in your virtual store locations depending on your windows settings. smaguire19
Thanks UnUsual Suspect. I think I transferred the file directly to the desktop, thus the desktop was acting like the folder. Got it figured out now. Much appreciated.
