rman56
I'm just throwing this out to as many forums as I belong to. It's happened a couple of times, rarely, but I complete dl'ing an .avi file and when I try to play it, i get an error message that says the file type isn't supported by the player, neither WMP or Media Jukebox, or that there is a missing codec. Any clues as to what I should do so I can view this file? When you start talking about video compression, it's all Greek to me, and I've been playing and converting and burning .avi files for ages. Thanks!
caf4926
try vlc http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ its pretty rock solid playing almost anything or if you have real alternative that will install media player classic, which too is great: http://www.filehippo.com/download_real_alternative/ and you can play rm files without all the real crap, and just about any other file there is. Dark_Shroud
If you want to stick with Windows Media Player then install CCCP decoders to go with it and possibly Media Player Classic.
