Need some advice

How do you deal with the BT file which needs 39GB space but your HDD has got 6GB space left?

A suggestion from Mr FoxHoNa was that, "people who don't have the HD capacity for such a big file but they can choose to download one file at a time".

But I am afraid BitComet won't check CRC for it.

Any ideas?

If its a multipart torrent then you can go ahead and download the parts one at a time. Like if its a tv series go ahead and download the first episode, then watch it, then delete it and start the next one. Bitcomet checks each piece of the data so dont worry about getting corrupt files. After deleting the first episode you should do a manual hash check of the torrent before starting the second one(do this by rightclicking on the torrent task while it is stopped).

I might add that BitComet (and Bittorrent generally) do not do CRC checking at all. It's considerably outdated and insufficiently accurate.

BitComet uses hashes (SHA2's) to check accuracy of the pieces. If you do not complete the full download, then yes, BitComet won't do a hash check on the full download that you don't have. But this won't matter if you follow bitdave's advice above, the check will be done on the pieces you do have, which is all you need.

I can't see there is an option for manual hash check!

I told you how to do it in my other post. In bitcomet's transfers window you right click on the torrent task and select Manual Hash Check. You can only do this when the task is in the Stopped state.
