Soraiya Posted June 3, 2006 Share Posted June 3, 2006 Technically Yes, that is probably the reason why you should always leave your Router's Firewall enabled/On at all times. This helps to prevent DOS attacks and alike. If you want your internet connection to stay safe, what you can do, is download PortTrigger (have a search for it via torrent search engines), and install it. bitdave Posted June 3, 2006 Share Posted June 3, 2006 I've opened many ports on my router and never had a problem. Like soraiya said just make sure the firewall is still enabled on the router. The only reason that opening a port becomes unsafe is if you have something on your computer that a hacker can communicate with, ie. spyware, trojans, etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
