As for your router, Check with Portforward.com, as they have guides with pictures for most routers. I suggest you select a listening port in the 50000 to 60000 range. Once it is properly forwarded in your router, and you have setup a static IP address in windows, it will just be a matter of finding the optimal setting to work with your connection.
