Problems with Windows Explorer

Hi All

I am having problems with my Windows Explorer.

I will be using it to look at files, or renaming files etc. when the "This program has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" window pops up.

This can occur just as explorer opens, or after a couple of minutes.

This is proving to be very irritating, as I dont seem to be able to do much.

I have tried looking around various forums and windows website, but to no avail. I have even reinstalled XP thinking there may have been a problem with the initial install. I had run V0.60 of bitcomet b4, then upgraded to

V0.65 (i think) where I started having probs. Prior to this, I didnt.

Below is a quick capture of the details for the problem from explorer

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown

ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 03093206

Cheers

Jazz

This is not related to bit comet in anyway.

I will move this topic to our non-bit comet section.

Also, what version of Windows is this? I couldn't begin to diagnose this from a forum post, but this is surely a windows problem.

If formatting your harddrive and reinstalling didn't resolve the problem, then there is surely a conflict with something. Please describe exactly what you are doing when this happens.

Thanks for replying.

Im using Windows XP with SP2

All I am doing when using explorer, is looking at the contents of folders,

or renaming or moving the contents of folders.

I have also just downloaded another file browser program called XYplorer, and the same thing happens
