ZehirCracker
Hi. My Computer with Windows Vista hung up, I could not click anything so i had to reboot while BitComet was running. My Question is if the Downloads in BitComet are still ok or is my computer damaged? But it seems like everything is ok. In General, when a computer hangs up, what could you do to make sure everything is still ok, is there a program to check the computer somehow?? cassie
I don't use Vista (I have XP Pro, SP3) but, didn't your Operating System automatically start a ScanDisk of all of your HD Drives if you rebooted your computer, without having properly closed all of your running applications off first? kluelos
Much depends on exactly why and how the computer hangs up. The hang can be a result of previous damage, such as a fatal disk error. That said, my computer stalls and hangs quite often. It also crashes and bluescreens. Remember when XP came out, much ballyhooed, to claims that bluescreens were now a thing of the past? They weren't. I'm long accustomed to OS reinstalls, driver updates, downdates, redates, and the like. You'll need to look at the system error log to see if you're encountering a regular serious error causing the hangs. It's probably not a serious problem. generally the computer will do a pretty good job of recovery all by itself, so actual damage from a hang is rare. The worst you get, most of the time, is a munged download, which bittorrent automatically corrects anyway.
