Ike
I'd like to ask you with regards to what the tracker connection errors mean. For example: "Tracker connection error:10061 , the system actively denies the connections" ""UDP Tracker no response" Tracker.thepiratebay.org/announce On others, the error is 10060 "did not respond adequately"... Actually, I'm more interested in knowing if the error situation could be resolved by me. What I usually do in these cases, is eliminate the corresponding tracker from the file, so that it won't keep trying to establish the connection all the time... I don't know if this is good or bad, if I'm hindering another user by eliminating the tracker from the file... Thank you for your help and regards. kluelos
These are Winsock error codes, and can be googled. Some are momentary, some are temporary, some are more-or-less permanent. They're the same in all versions of Windows.
Except for one, the "UDP Tracker no response". You get that one because TPB does not have, nor ever had, a UDP tracker. (Nowadays TPB has no tracker at all and relies entirely on DHT and PEX.) Many people making torrents uselessly and stupidly add in a UDP tracker. First, very few trackers actually offer UDP service, as it's intended for those who cannot use TCP -- a very small number of people. Second, it exactly duplicates the information you get from the TCP service, so this is uselessly hitting the tracker twice for the exact same information. It just puts an extra load on the tracker without benefiting anybody. Edited October 11, 2010 by cassie (see edit history)
