shmnz7 Posted February 17, 2013 Share Posted February 17, 2013 HI, I am just wondering why I download more than the file size, for instance, a file that I am downloading says its size is 5mb but when i check the total downloaded it says 7mb - Using BitComet - you know why this is so? The UnUsual Suspect Posted February 17, 2013 Share Posted February 17, 2013 Each torrent downloads pieces one at a time, if any of these pieces are corrupt or damaged, they will be discarded and redownloaded until you have the target files that are 100% identical to the originals. kluelos Posted February 17, 2013 Share Posted February 17, 2013 There is also quite a lot of overhead associated with bittorrent, such as exchanging piecemaps with every other member of the swarm, whether or not you actually swap anything with them.
