tklm
A large file say 1.5 GB and the number of seed is 18 put under test. OS=Winxp SP2 ISP=Netvigator connection speed=firefox download a 100MB file read at middle=170KB/s Use 0.56 download speed 110KB/s (average) UL speed=3~15KB/s Use 0.7 disable Upnp and DHT perference setting same as 0.56 download speed 80KB/s Is my perference setting o.k.? Is 0.7 has to be improved on speed or the test I made is not correct?
The UnUsual Suspect
I personally don't enable upnp, but always enable dht. having dht will help your download speed if the tracker is busy, or offline, providing the tracker allows the use of dht. I would also say that the conditions could never be exactly the same when comparing the two versions of bit comet. Even if you were downloading the same torrent on identical computers at the same time, one could be connected to peers with higher upload then the other, or connected to someone that is running several torrents at once (which is what kills everyones download speeds). I would have to conclude that your test is not valid. I also could not imagine why the older version would download faster. I will add that your download speeds seem to be good when compared to your upload speed. Suspect
Dark_Shroud
Some of the older versions were more agressive in the way the downloaded and that is why they were banned from private trackers. BitComet 0.70 is quite good. But you need to go through the settings guide to configure it.

File is 800MB, 17 seeds.......Average download is 60KB/s. Upload is 3~15KB/s. If the older version is banned by from private trackers, the new version should be much better....but?? :(

Suspect The test I made is use o.7 download for couple of hours, then use 0.56, same pc, same storage download location, same torrent ........ There are some post said 0.7 download speed up to 800KB/s....but there were no info about thier connection speed, number of seeds and just feel we are such a fool not to get that result near. I am rather satisfied that I can get over 100KB/s compare with 170KB/s(external-isp-PC) B)
