dawin45
well when the torrent stops at 100% or under he could get uploading, it means seeding, you give others what you have downloaded, the torrent systems works like this uploader gives lechers all the data that the torrent is including... the lechers after they download 100% become seders, and give back 2 other seders that same info... kluelos
There is no programmatic limit, by default, to the amount you upload. It will keep going forever until you decide to stop it. This is where you should consult your upload/download ratio for that torrent, to see how you've done so far. Normally, you will want to upload as much as you have downloaded, for a ratio of 1.0, but you may want to go beyond that for several reasons. You might want to help keep this particular torrent alive, or you might want to improve your ratio at a site which tracks that ratio. You can set a limit in your preferences, but it's just as easy to do it manually, and when you see that your ratio has reached a point that you're satisfied with, stop the torrent. The community's existence is based on people giving back as much as they take, so do make sure you've uploaded to at least that 1.0 ratio.
The UnUsual Suspect
you can read more about how bit torrent protocall works here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bittorrent To give you the very basic overview... Start torrent, you are now a "peer" you do both download and upload. Torrent reaches 100% You are now a "Seed" and continue to provide files to others. Now you have two options... 1. Continue to let torrent run until well above ratio of 1.0 (this is what a good torrent user does) 2. Stop torrent once you get the files you wanted. (this is what a BAD torrent user does) People that do this are often referred to as "Leeches", a term would could apply to all peers that are NOT seeds, but has become a term for those that take more then they give. incavenuziano
How come, even when you allow the torrent to stay on bitcomet with "share this task in torrent share" selected, it still does not show any upload? sometimes even in a torrent that was very fast and that you know has a lot people sharing it? what to do to make sure it will go at least to 1.00 ratio? Although I like to leave it to at least 2.00 to make sure it is alive.

Although I like to leave it to at least 2.00 to make sure it is alive. The torrent has to be running in order to share with bittorrent peers. In some cases it will be shared with LTseed peers when stopped but only if there is unused bandwidth and such peers exist. Torrents with a lot of seeds may be difficult to upload to, but if you keep them running you will usually reach a time when they are in great need of seeders. Also be sure you don't disable small files as this could prevent you from being a true seeder and leave others stuck with 99% of a torrent downloaded. Many people seem to be disabling files like .nfo or other small files because they don't want them but that harms the entire swarm, it's best to get them all and you can delete anything you don't want after the task is deleted.
